Objective: Description of the situation of handling chemotherapy at home for caregivers of pediatric patients with acute leukemia from June 01, 2020. Method: case series description. Results: Eighty-seven caregivers weresurveyed. 100% caregivers received instruction on safe handling of oral chemotherapy at home from physicians, 25.3% st to July 31stcaregivers received instruction from nurses, 83.9% patients whose mother prepared medication and 14.5% are pregnant. Toprepare medication, 47.1% caregivers used the family room and 46% used bed room. 75.9% children who have to divide medication into smaller, 23.6% of children have to dissolve after crushed, 86.8% person who used table crushers, 80.4% of caregivers do not use any means of personal safeguards when handling chemotherapy, 82.4 % disposed it in regular garbage after used, 59.8% of caregivers always wash their hands after handled chemotherapy, 77% caregivers saved medication for using later when needed and 6.9% put left medication to normal garbage. Conclusion: Although 100% of caregivers received instruction on safe handling but in terms of practice, according to APHON, it is not enough and some practices are not safe for caregivers and community. Counselling should be improved to be sure safety for caregivers, pediatric patients and community. Key words: oral chemotherapy, pediatric, caregiver, safe handling
