Cultural hybridity: The vitality of Hoi An ancient town world cultural heritage

Cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO globally, some of which are once only glorious in the past, others have been luckily continued to infuse cultural vitality by indigenous residents. In theory, some aspects of culture and heritage need to be practiced in their communities to preserve their values and keep them alive. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the phenomenon of cultural hybridity in Hoi An world cultural heritage. More specifically, what makes Hoi An becoming an attractive tourist destination chosen by many domestic and international travellers? While many other cultural heritages have been recognized by UNESCO, but still cannot promote their values. Through interviewed 2 keys managers working at Hoi An heritage Board and observation of authors in Hoi An in recently, the authors draw out two points: first of all, the cultural hybridity between local communities and visitors is an essential factor which is forming the vitality of Hoi An ancient town and secondly, the commitment to protect the heritage of the local government also contributes to attracting tourists. The findings address insightful dimensions of cultural hybridity, which is forming up the attractiveness and vitality of Hoi An. This cultural hybridity consists of Hoi An heritage's core value and residents' contemporary culture in interacting with guest culture. Hoi An is the past's cultural heritage, but its vitality is even more robust, enabling the world's value-transmission. Consequently, Hoi An ancient town preserves its original cultural value and helps local people earn a living from their heritage and daily cultural activities. Moreover, a more in-depth examination is clarified concerning the characteristics of the method to enhance the cultural vitality of heritages recognized by UNESCO and the cultural hybridity: the vitality of Hoi An world cultural heritage.
