Analyzing the factors affecting to the intension to use traditional medicine

The research is conducted with the goal of finding out the factors that affect the intention to use the traditional medicine over the modern one. Research is done through preliminary research and formal research. Preliminary research is carried out based on previous studies and documents and images of intended use, and at the same time experts in traditional medicine are also consulted, especially in the field of musculoskeletal system. Quantitative research is used in the formal research period, by collecting questionnaires via email and social networks, and in combining with direct interviews. The study was conducted between March 2020 and August 2020 and there were 300 survey samples collected from residents living in Ho Chi Minh City. The analytical results obtained 6 hypotheses that were accepted at the 95% significance level and 2 hypotheses were rejected. In which, useful perceptions and beliefs positively affect attitudes, in which beliefs have a stronger impact. Medical complications, costs, social influences, and attitudes all influence intention to use. Wherein, the factor of attitude has strongest impact, followed by medical complications, cost and finally social influence. Out of the factors that influence the intention, medical complications and cost have the opposite effect. Rebuttal of belief hypotheses and subjective standards positively impact intentions. The results of testing for differences show that there is a difference in the age group in assessing the importance of the medical complication factor and intention to use. At the same time, the results also showed that there is a difference in the occupational group in assessing the importance of the belief factor and complications. Finally, the results also show that there is a difference in the educational level groups in assessing the importance of belief factors and subjective norms.
